Supporting Families, Empowering Futures

PERSONALIZED GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES

helping children thrive

HOW I HELP

At Bridge the Gap for Kids, we understand that every child’s learning journey is unique. As an Educational Specialist, I provide families with the tools, guidance, and support needed to create a structured and nurturing environment where children can thrive—both academically and emotionally.

By working closely with parents and caregivers, I help establish effective routines, build meaningful connections, and implement personalized learning strategies tailored to each child’s individual strengths and challenges.

Whether through individualized education plans, targeted intervention strategies, or guidance on fostering a positive home learning environment, my goal is to bridge the gap between school and home life.

Through open collaboration and research-based approaches, I empower families to better understand their child’s needs, emotions, and behaviors. By equipping them with the knowledge and strategies necessary for success, I help build confidence, promote growth, and ensure every child feels heard, valued, and supported on their educational journey.

CASE STUDY EXAMPLE

I'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU ONE OF MY STORIES OF SUCCESS

I worked with a family that had two children, one of whom was my client. The parents reached out for help because the younger sibling was frequently hitting and scratching the older sibling, causing frustration. Despite the older sibling’s attempts to calmly ask them to stop, the behavior only escalated.

Through careful observation, I identified that the younger child was engaging in attention-seeking behavior and simply wanted more interaction with their older sibling. After discussing the situation with both the parents and the older child, I developed a strategy: rewarding the older sibling each time they ignored the unwanted behavior and walked away.

As expected, the hitting and scratching briefly increased at first since the usual attention was no longer being reinforced. However, by the following day, the behavior had completely stopped.

Mom and a Child

"SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY"

As a parent, one of the most valuable lessons Bethany has taught me is that not everything my children say needs an immediate response. Sometimes, they just need the choice—do they want my advice, or do they simply need me to listen? This simple idea has changed how I connect with my kids. Now, when they’re having a tough time or just want to share about their day, I stop and listen first. I wait to see if they need a hug or ask for my thoughts. Instead of being quick to talk, I’m now quick to listen. I’ve also seen Bethany in action with my own children, ages 5 and 7. She’s incredibly patient and knows just how to guide them. Even when she’s just hanging out with us at my house, she’s so present and involved with them. It’s amazing to watch. I thank God for placing such a wonderful friend in my life. Bethany has poured so much into me as a parent. After 15 years of parenting, I never realized how much I needed to slow down and see things differently. Bethany, God has given you a gift. Keep going—don’t stop! Parents and kids like me are counting on you.
